Forevermate, The Fallen And The Forgotten, Works

The Fallen And The Forgotten : Prologue

Note : This is an ORIGINAL work. Sorry guys, not a translation or another chapter. I want honest opinions on this one if you read it. This is from my planned five book series. The first book’s name is The Fallen And The Forgotten. It’s a Werewolf/ Action/ Fantasy/ Romance novel. I hope you will enjoy it. The series in itself span over the time span of many decades with different timelines but all are related to the shit that goes down in one of the books (not the first one).

Prologue

The sun dipped into the horizon over the snow covered mountains, its color the bright red of a still-beating heart, like the blooming flower of crimson on white. The air smelled of earth, grass and cold, the rivers roaring past and gurgling over the path that they had traveled for thousands of years. On a mountaintop, there stood several people dressed in black, the cloak of the person standing at their head fluttering in the chilly wind which whistled past their ears.

“I can smell death and hatred, and an undeniable urge for a massacre.” A young boy said from behind their leader. He was a pretty boy but his wide smile of a maniac ensured people stay away from him.

“He’s right, for once in his life,” a hoarse voice sounded from a petite figure. Even though the person’s face was covered by an intricate mask of red and black, one look at the pale hands with rounded, well kept, pink nails holding a staff would prove it was a girl. “I sense invaders, and they are not nice, the aura of death is thick and cloying. Do you think we will need to make a move Alpha?”

For a moment all was quiet before the crass cacophony and shrieks of animals ensued, the sky became black with bird silhouettes and the forest beneath thundering with the mayhem of frightened animals. The leader’s eyes widened in surprise, she had not thought that these invaders, whoever they may be, would be able to kill the Wise Titan of the West who had maintained peace for decades. All the animals must have sensed it, any being or group which could slaughter that giant serpent was not simple, and they too knew it.

“Alineyjri is dead?” The young boy murmured, they had sparred before and he had barely escaped with his life. He still remembered that majestic form with glistening blue scales so dark they appeared black, and in the sunlight, they appeared iridescent and vibrant, his eyes golden with dark blue slit-eyed pupils. His scales had been smooth to touch, like glass and were like an impenetrable fortress of steel. What kind of person would be able to kill that sacred beast? For Lei, as so the young boy was named, the Wise Titan—known so for his titanic form which was taller than fifty men—was an opponent worth fighting and had been his motivation for growing stronger so he could one day beat him. He had been a rival but also a mentor, Lei tasted crushing defeat for the first time while fighting him but that only burned in him a desire for power.

A towering man standing behind him restrained him, all of them knew the bond that the boy and the Wise Titan shared, he was one of the few who could call him by his name.

“Let me go, I will slaughter that damn bastard who killed Alineyjri!” Lei shrieked, his eyes red with tears.

The petite girl chuckled mirthlessly as she sarcastically derided him, “What would you be able to do? Other than get yourself minced or skewered?”

The leader laughed loudly, it was a laugh of joy with hints of callousness and cruelty, causing a shiver to run down their spines. The sun had disappeared and the sky was dark, the biting chill of winter more apparent, but all the black-clothed figures knew that the cold wasn’t why their hair was standing up or why there was a bitter taste in their mouths.

“Nights like these make me want to dye the whole world red.”

The leader was a tall, voluptuous woman whose beauty could be rivaled by very few. It was a kind of seductive beauty that was attention-grabbing and left people speechless. She had dark hair and porcelain smooth skin the color of ivory and red lips, but what truly made her different were her eyes. Her eyes did not have irises and were entirely black with stars in them, it was as if an entire galaxy was hidden in them.

“But I don’t think we should underestimate this enemy. Enaya, send your children to scout.”

The petite girl bowed in acceptance of the task. “It shall be done, Alpha.”

Enaya glanced at the chilling beauty in front of her, before summoning her children. The ground around her feet turned black and the smell of rot and decay came from it, several dark figures rising from it, they were shaped like different animals and scattered into the forest, doing as their mistress bade them to.

“What about Alineyjri?” Lei said, still in shock. The man behind cringed but it was hidden beneath his bushy beard, this kid was looking to be hit.

The Alpha’s hands crackled as sparks appeared in them, but instead of being white like lightning they were black, it was the power of dark elements. She didn’t even say anything before Lei was hit with a mysterious force and sent flying back more than ten meters, he spat out blood before realizing who he had questioned. He wanted to beg for forgiveness but said nothing, pain wracking his body. This beautiful person was cold and extremely cruel, she killed mercilessly and there was none in this world who could be close to her. He knew that he would be killed if she lifted a mere finger and decided to keep quiet.

The Alpha was being swamped by complex emotions she hadn’t felt in a long time. She could perceive that whatever it was that had killed the Wise Titan of the West was a being almost as powerful as her, who was a god-like existence.

Was there finally someone who would make her feel exhilarated while fighting, who would be able to hurt her in the slightest?

“The Alpha King has summoned you, Alpha.” The tall bearded man said many hours later to the woman who lounged on a bed, the slit of her dress exposing her thighs. The room smelled of wine and the woman’s face was pink.

“What does the old uncle want?” They weren’t related at all. In fact, she had never met him in her life.

“He wanted to ask about how Alineyjri could die on your watch.”

“It was just a tool used for helping you guys practice, if it were up to this lady, I would have slaughtered it long back!” The Alpha hiccupped, her eyelashes fanning her cheeks as she closed her eyes in tiredness.

“The Alpha King does not know of your power and naturally underestimates you… the Wise Titan was one of the four gatekeepers of the Kratishka Kingdom. The Empire of Xarhyia has been chaotic and they have many powerful people as allies, including the Faerie Queen. The Alpha King fears a war.”

The man explained to his Alpha who mostly did not care about these things at all, she felt it was too bothersome and boring.

“With this unknown fifth gatekeeper here, who would dare to invade or start fights? This lady would just slaughter them—the old man worries too much!” The old man in question was the Alpha King of their kingdom. The tall man sighed, too tired to remind her that she was just as old as him… And, even if he had the guts of a hundred men, he still wouldn’t say it. Who knows what she would do to him?

Enaya could see everyone the invaders were doing through her children’s eyes. Though this method was effective and really good for eavesdropping and spying, it consumed a lot of her energy, leaving her weak and disoriented. She could see that the group was composed mostly of men with a few females here and there.

They were werewolves and a few of them were in their wolf form. The invaders had tight security, not even a fly could flit in without them knowing, but no one could catch shadows (no one would suspect shadows if they blended into their own) which made her children imperceptible to them. She scouted their group and estimated that there were more than five hundred of them, all of them with top shape equipment and on a high level of werewolf warrior ranking.

“Let’s see…” She murmured as she controlled her vision. Her vision was like watching it in real life, except it appeared grainy and the edges blurred into white. The security grew thicker around one area where three cabins had been erected. This was weird—security should be tight on the perimeter so why was it so heavy smack in the middle of their encampment? She waited patiently before she saw one man move slightly, quickly ‘she’ melded into his shadow, before she drew closer to the cabin.

A blood-curdling scream escaped from inside and then the laughter of a few men. Enaya waited for some time and went inside, her vision showed her the bodies of a few women.

Exerting more power she made the vision clearer. She could see their rotten corpses bruised black and blue, a few bones sticking out here and there, skin that had been completely deformed or peeled off, head smashed in and face bashed, innards spilled on the ground. Enaya had seen people killed and had killed herself, she knew her Alpha tortured people but their seemingly cold Alpha would never let the young ones like herself see the cruel scenes of her artwork, because of this, it was the first time she had seen something so gruesome. She knew they were beyond saving but she couldn’t stop from hoping.

     She had to tell Alpha…

Enaya looked through her vision seeing men crowd around another girl, this one was alive but much badly abused than others. I have to save her… I have to do something—why won’t my legs move?

In her confusion, her child of darkness which had become one with the shadows suddenly turned back into its animal form, but the only one who noticed was the half-dead girl. “Save me… please.”

Enaya’s consciousness collapsed from fatigue and her child of darkness scattered. The girl who was looking in that direction seemed to have realized that whatever that black thing was, it was no longer present. With that she lost another piece of her heart, eyes lifeless like a doll’s as she kept suffering from the abuse and torture.

     “Mom… dad… Little One… my Lucky Star…”

A U T H O R ‘ S   N O T E

Okay, so… how was it? God, I feel nervous… This is the prologue and it is the prologue of sorts to the entire series, so its very important. I wrote and trashed this very chapter four times before I was satisfied. It still needs a ton of editing, but I’ve decided to let the first draft be.

All my books will feature different characters with a few making appearances in the previous books or in the later books. They don’t have a romance heavy plot but it’s still there. I’ll say it again; this is a first draft… It may not be all that awesome. This series is very close to my heart, since it features the very first fictional character I ever thought of, and she is a character whom I treat like my baby darling.

I’m still debating on if I should post my story on here, since I’m known to be erratic with my writing (it drives my friends mad), and I’m also writing another story (a teen fiction romance which I NEED to finish). This story is blood and gore and will need a lot of planning and execution, it features many dark pasts and secrets. So… yeah…

Man, this got long… But I guess for a first A/N it’s okay…

      1. Oooh sounds interesting! I had a feeling she’d be a survivor!
        Most welcome! ^_^
Your description style is really good by the way. Not overly done and not lacking!
Really really looking forward to this! 😊

      2. Usually I feel like I’m being too descriptive, so it’s good to hear elsewise. Though about her being a survivor, I won’t be sure on that (even if I am spoiling my own story, it feels kind of cruel to have someone root for someone, but then…), thing’s happen because of what happened to the girl and influences mass changes and massacres.

    1. Alpha and Alpha King are both ranks rather than names. It clears up later on, since the very first main character of the series doesn’t originally belong to the world. She accidentally enters the world through one of the open portals from human world and interrupts a bloody ceremony and is then forced to stay.
